Caesarstone’s new Dark Collection embraces a contemporary trend in kitchens and bathrooms that has recently set a bold tone. As an antidote to light and sometimes ascetic colour palettes, this softer mood is much more striking and unexpected. Today, black has been reconsidered as a modern classic, used as a stark accent or a powerful overall look. Furniture, tabletops, flowers and food are just some of the lifestyle elements that have turned to black. Dark slate and stone, along with oxidized metal and black lacquered wood, are among the remarkable materials being combined in dramatic interiors and hospitality spaces.

From our classic luxury of Empira Black to the matte infinity of Piatto Black via the evocative patinas of rusted Oxidian and weathered Black Tempal, Caesarstone’s Dark Collection presents an intriguing range of captivating hues that bring warmth to the home and an emotional caress to the stone. Natural Finish

This slightly textured finish conjures up the emotional caress of stone; adding warmth to the grain so it’s pleasing to the touch. A satin sheen that gently reflects light–captivating the viewer and enhancing the depth of a colour, especially on darker shades. Our new Natural Finish combines the appeal of texture one can actually feel–with the practicality of the minimal care and maintenance synonymous with all Caesarstone product.

A recent shift towards darker rooms has rekindled designers’ interest in surfaces such as black granites, marbles and slate. This trend has its origins in recent daring design, bringing a stylish presence to interiors – especially in city homes and apartments, or commercial spaces where the effect becomes even more dramatic. Bold shapes revive both modernism and minimalism; however the new approach is to introduce natural material combinations that evoke a sense of warmth.

Piatto Black is the ultimate dark. Its fine granular appearance is complemented by a textured finish; enhancing a deeper, more intense black. Highly durable, this captivating material guarantees the ease and care synonymous with all Caesarstone products.

Piatto Black is designed with versatility in mind: from graphic islands to backsplashes for a grander statement. As a countertop it is used freely in both kitchens and bathrooms, beautifully accompanying monochrome cabinetry and tiles. Contemporary accents in the new dark kitchen include brass chrome and brushed copper finishes while larger co-ordinating surfaces include marble, medium to dark woodgrains and industrial concrete floors. In hospitality, Piatto Black combines with oxidized alloys and other blackened finishes to create a new atmosphere in bars, lobbies and restaurants.

Caesarstone has innovated a dark grey base with true depth, thanks to Caesarstone’s new Natural Finish, which presents a slightly textured grain that consumers can truly feel. Tarnished with an oxidised russet effect that is distributed unevenly, just like real rust, Caesarstone offers a trend-savvy aged surface, yet maintains the practical durability and easy care associated with all its products.

At home in urban apartments and residences, Oxidian is equally suited to hospitality, bringing a metallic presence to restaurants, bars and hotels. There, Oxidian combines well with other industrial materials like concrete and lumber, ideally complemented by gunmetal or black cabinetry, and with brushed steel or copper hardware.
