Dark Collection

Caesarstone’s new Dark Collection embraces a contemporary trend in kitchens and bathrooms that has recently set a bold tone. As an antidote to light and sometimes ascetic colour palettes, this softer mood is much more striking and unexpected. Today, black has been reconsidered as a modern classic, used as a stark accent or a powerful overall look. Furniture, tabletops, flowers and food are just some of the lifestyle elements that have turned to black. Dark slate and stone, along with oxidized metal and black lacquered wood, are among the remarkable materials being combined in dramatic interiors and hospitality spaces.

From our classic luxury of Empira Black to the matte infinity of Piatto Black via the evocative patinas of rusted Oxidian and weathered Black Tempal, Caesarstone’s Dark Collection presents an intriguing range of captivating hues that bring warmth to the home and an emotional caress to the stone. All colours in the collection are enhanced by the new Natural Finish with a slight grain one can feel, bringing much warmth to its range–and adding extra depth to its textural darks.

Natural Finish

This slightly textured finish conjures up the emotional caress of stone; adding warmth to the grain so it’s pleasing to the touch. A satin sheen that gently reflects light–captivating the viewer and enhancing the depth of a colour, especially on darker shades. Our new Natural Finish combines the appeal of texture one can actually feel–with the practicality of the minimal care and maintenance synonymous with all Caesarstone product.

All colours in the new 2020 Dark Collection will feature this new Natural Finish.

3101 Piatto Black

A recent shift towards darker rooms has rekindled designers’ interest in surfaces such as black granites, marbles and slate. This trend has its origins in recent daring design, bringing a stylish presence to interiors – especially in city homes and apartments, or commercial spaces where the effect becomes even more dramatic. Bold shapes revive both modernism and minimalism; however the new approach is to introduce natural material combinations that evoke a sense of warmth.

Piatto Black is the ultimate dark. Its fine granular appearance is complemented by a textured finish; enhancing a deeper, more intense black. Highly durable, this captivating material guarantees the ease and care synonymous with all Caesarstone products.

Piatto Black is designed with versatility in mind: from graphic islands to backsplashes for a grander statement. As a countertop it is used freely in both kitchens and bathrooms, beautifully accompanying monochrome cabinetry and tiles. Contemporary accents in the new dark kitchen include brass chrome and brushed copper finishes while larger co-ordinating surfaces include marble, medium to dark woodgrains and industrial concrete floors. In hospitality, Piatto Black combines with oxidized alloys and other blackened finishes to create a new atmosphere in bars, lobbies and restaurants.

4735 Oxidian

Transformed alloys such as bronze, steel and cast iron have woven a dramatic spell over contemporary design, fuelling consumers’ insatiable desire for metallic finishes while capturing the mysterious essence of alchemy.

As part of the Metropolitan Collection, Oxidian celebrates the industrial aesthetic of patina and the tactile experience of touch. Caesarstone has innovated a dark grey base with true depth, thanks to Caesarstone’s new Natural Finish, which presents a slightly textured grain that consumers can truly feel. Tarnished with an oxidised russet effect that is distributed unevenly, just like real rust, Caesarstone offers a trend-savvy aged surface, yet maintains the practical durability and easy care associated with all its products.

At home in urban apartments and residences, Oxidian is equally suited to hospitality, bringing a metallic presence to restaurants, bars and hotels. There, Oxidian combines well with other industrial materials like concrete and lumber, ideally complemented by gunmetal or black cabinetry, and with brushed steel or copper hardware. The kitchen space is finished with dark wooden floors, ceramics and upholstery, leading the new dark kitchen trend that is taking the design world by storm: swapping the former minimalism of light colours for the deeper emotion found in shadowy blacks. Room remains for shots of colour, however – be it shades of yellow, red or olive green – brightening up the interior for those who seek it.

5101 Empira Black

A shift towards incorporating dark materials has influenced contemporary design and decorating in the most stylish settings. Black marble in particular has the power to express opulence and drama, yet remarkably this timeless classic can also suggest the modest beauty of nature through the organic veining that discreetly traces its complex body.

With all the mystery of any dark stone, Empira Black has a dark base composed of rich, deep black beautified by fine white natural veins. Emotional and full of depth, Caesarstone’s Natural Finish heightens its elegant feel without overwhelming its innate essence. Inspired by the authentic characteristics of natural forms, Empira Black endows the space with the sophistication of real marble.

Empira Black transforms any room into a luxury experience, from residential kitchens and bathrooms to fashionable hotels and hospitality spaces. Whether as a contrasting island silhouette or used all-over for an utterly stunning look, this memorable surface combines well with other high-end finishes, such as classic hardware, black lacquered cabinets or dark woods like walnut. This creative interpretation of natural stone brings sophisticated, timeless classic qualities to any interior.

5810 Black Tempal

Trends in residential interiors have set a darker tone layered with emotion. Black and dark materials have recently been introduced to the most stylish urban kitchens and bathrooms in the form of stones like slate and travertine – tactile materials that possess an almost industrial presence.

Part of Caesarstone’s Metropolitan Collection, Black Tempal has soft mineral deposits that give rise to a delicate, light veil of warm whites across the slab, in contrast to the sturdy black charcoal base. Its textured, complex industrial composition reflects a captivating interpretation of industrial travertine, as its finish enhances the colour’s depth while capturing warm granular highlights consumers can caress. Oak, taupe-tinted tiles and russet upholstery create a warm, sophisticated statement when applied to hospitality areas –enhancing lobbies and creating a moody ambiance in bars. Brushed steel and gunmetal hardware complement the surface, while putty grey walls and grey-washed woods offer a captivating dichotomy. Yet, Black Tempal’s organic essence can also see it paired with humbler materials, from rough slate to raw concrete, accented by celadon tiles and handmade ceramics. Splashes of warm neutrals or brighter colours further animate the interior and juxtapose its dark shadows.
